What is CLIL?

CLIL is the acronym of Content and Language Integrated Learning. If we were to ask the question “What is subject teaching?” or what is language teaching” we would probably be expecting more than four articles in response. So, to short this, the most comprehensive work on the subject is the one that Ball Phil (2017) defines, CLIL is an approach, a philosophy and an educational paradigm that suggests the idea of learning other subjects such as Biology or chemistry through the medium of a foreign language and learning more vocabulary in context due to content based subject. “If you're a subject teacher working through the medium of a foreign language, or a language teacher bringing in content into your English lesson, you work within the area of Content and Language Integrated Learning”(Phil,2017).
